Sunday - December 29th - Connie's Slow Scrap and Chat

Nancy aka physioscrapper here in place of Laramie (scrappycoyote) as she was suddenly called away on a family emergency. She offers her apologies for not having her post here for you to read, and promises to announce the winner of the contest. The blog has been updated with October's Outstanding Layouts.

I want to highlight Connie's weekly "Slow Scrap and Chat"!!  Almost every Friday evening at Gotta Pixel - 8pm ET. Connie is there in the Gotta Pixel Chat Room waiting with instructions on what to include on your scrap page.  She does all the thinking, you just get to scrap.  A "Slow Scrap" has the same components as a "Speed Scrap" with steps provided for you to complete your page every 10 minutes...BUT, (and it's a very BIG BUT) you get until the next afternoon to complete your page!  No hurry required!  Everyone who completes a page and posts it in the Gotta Pixel gallery gets a little bonus from Connie too! As there is plenty of time to complete your page, if you feel like just chatting or "listening" to others chat during the hour that is perfectly okay.

To log into the Chat Room, you just click on the link "Chat Room" that is on the brown banner at the top of any Gotta Pixel forum page.  It will ask you to log in with your username....but any name will do; and I highly recommend you log in with Flash and not Java (just check the box beside Flash) as less problems appear to be had by those using Flash.  A box will appear where the conversations are written, all the people who are in the Chat Room is off to the right side, and you can type in any remarks or "hi!" in the box at the bottom of the screen.
That's all there is to it!!

If you miss the chat at 8 pm ET; Connie always writes out the "instructions" in the forum under "CHAT and CROPS",  so you can still make a page, post it, and get the bonus even if you don't formally attend the chat.
December 20th was the last "Slow Scrap" that occurred and these were the instructions that Connie gave.  Remember there is no right or wrong way of doing things.... you just have to follow these steps!

Step #1 - Choose an odd number of photos, frame or mat if you wish.
Step #2 - Choose at least three papers to layer for your background.
Step #3 - Use a journal card someplace on your page.
Step #4 - Add at least one ribbon & one string.
Step #5 - Add a cluster of elements in at least two different places.
Step #6 - Use a wordart or label for your title.
Step #7 - Add any additional elements, journaling, etc that you would like.
Save & you are done!
All layouts posted by 5 pm ET on Saturday will earn a coupon to spend in my store.

Hi everyone! Nancy, here sharing Connie's news. Shari is still recovering from her surgery (Hugs girl, we miss you!) and I thought I'd start our week off sharing some fantastic layouts that were created at Connie's last speed scrap! You were there, weren't you? lol
What I'm always amazed at is the variety that comes from exactly the same instructions! I love it, as again like any digital scrapping, there is no right or wrong way!
