Good afternoon, ladies!  Hope you all didn't miss the puzzle with your morning coffee.  Yesterday was Chrissy and Andy's 7th anniversary and we took them out to celebrate.  Of course, I got to sleep in. My darling husband went out early today and did the grocery shopping.  What a guy!  Anyhow... time to get back to the business of the Sunday Funday post!

Grab A Byte is in full swing as well.   A Wing and A Prayer is a beautiful and feminine kit.  I love the muted colors of this one.

I'm "dopey" for not getting the coupons out last week.. so I scrapped Dopey!

I owe a huge apology to the four participants in my last layout challenge. I forgot to send their coupons out. I sent them earlier today when I realized what happened.  I'm not hard to reach at all. And if that ever happens again (oh I hope not!!), don't feel bad about sending me an email and a nudge.

That was a truly awesome job you all did finding those elements!  I thought I was being pretty sneaky hiding that spider!!  Here is the layout with the 8 elements identified:

Halloween and DSD are closing in fast!  This will be a week full of parties, trick or treating followed by more fun and games!!  I don't know about you, but I'm excited! You'll want to keep an eye on Connie this week!  You just never know what our Ninja Designer is up to!!  (have you seen her Ninja avatar on Facebook?)

It's time for me to remember my roots and why I was asked to join Connie's CT. Connie was always amazed that I could take any kit and scrap Disney.  So this week, I have scrapped Dopey using kits that might surprise you.  

Dopey is one of the seven dwarfs. He is the youngest of the seven dwarfs, and never says a word. Despite not talking, legendary great Mel Blanc was the voice for Dopey's vocal effects.   Dopey is often the butt of the other dwarf's jokes, and his silly, playful actions often annoy the pompous Doc and the short-tempered Grumpy. Dopey is not dumb by any means. He merely acts like a toddler or dog.  Dopey is the most popular dwarf among audiences, but definitely not among the other dwarfs.  

We're going to change things up again this week.  I created this layout using five (5) different kits from Connie.   I would like for you to identify at least three (3) of those kits.  Email your answers to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com. All correct entries will be put through the randomizer and one lucky ducky will receive a $3 coupon to Connie's store.

Something a little different this week.....

Connie has some really important things to share with you today, so we'll be skipping "Scrapping the Magic Kingdom" this week. But I do have a couple things to share real quick.

For those of you who are Disney bound.. one of the best things you can invest in is The PassPorter. You can pick these up in many bookstores or buy them directly from PassPorter.com. I am mentioning this now because there is a $1 sale on some old PassPorters to clear out the warehouse for the new year. They are 2012 PassPorters but they will give you a great idea of what they are like and contain lots of useful information. Disney Hint:
If you planning to be in Disney on FRIDAY, September 13th.... the villains will be having a party!!  (Oh don't I wish I was going to be there!!)  It’s all happening for a limited time only from 8 PM to 1 AM on Friday, September 13, 2013 as part of Limited Time Magic at Disney Parks.  The event will be held at Hades Hangout located in DisneyWorld's Hollywood Studios.  To read more about this party, click on the Laramie's Disney Hint tab and then on Kenny the Pirate. Kenny has information there about the upcoming villainy. (There is also a party at DisneyLand.)

Scrapping the Magic Kingdom: The Mad Tea Party

I am NOT a morning person.  Since Linky is set to accept links through 7:55 AM, I will post the winner of  the coupon probably between 11 AM and Noon.  But I will come and announce it today!

There we have it!!  The winner is Michi!  The layouts were all FANTASTIC!   I just have to share the full size version of Michi's.   The $5 coupon has been sent off to Michi...  and Connie was in a good mood today! She  sent me $3 coupons for the other two participants!  You all just have to start playing my games more. Seems we never know when Connie will give me extra things!! It's that time of week again!!  We're off to Magic Kingdom and The Mad Tea Party ride!!  It just dawned on me that for those who have never been to Disney and will be going, I should add a few things about the rides.

The Mad Tea Party is located in Fantasyland.  There is NO height requirement but children under age  7 must be accompanied by a person over 14 years old.  Wheelchair and ECV users  must transfer into the Cups. This is a spinning ride, but the wheel in the center lets you control your direction and speed. Want a wild ride? Turn the wheel fast and hold on.   Don't turn the wheel at all for gentler rides.  Even though you control the spinning, the teacup will toss and turn on the deck.  You may find yourself in a cup with Alice or the Mad Hatter. I really am not sure if the White Rabbit ever hops into a cup or not!

There is a color palette for The Mad Tea Party!  So let's start with that.  I have a photo of the sign.. and you'll see that the colors are great choices!  Isn't it just amazing how well Disney Imagineers carry through with a theme???

Of course I have a layout!  Scrapping is what I do!  But this is a very special layout.  I was looking through Connie's kits trying to match the color palette and failing miserably.  So, I dropped her a quick note to see if she could easily direct me to a kit.  You know what she came back with????

Connie had made this mini-kit back in 2010 for a MouseScrapper prize!  I have to tell you... Connie is awesome! And...  this sweet little mini-kit will be a prize again!! We'll get to that in a few minutes.  First.. my layout!

You caught me! I cheated just a little and took a piece of paper from Connie's Project 2013 May kit. I wanted something solid for those blends. 

Now for this week's contest...  I placed two different elements from the mini-kit somewhere onto my photos.  If you can tell me one or both of those elements and where I placed it/them...  I will send you the link to this adorable mini kit!!   But please.. Scrapping the Magic Kingdom: Jungle Cruise Contest

I would like to thank Debbie Neace for sharing her layout with us on last week's post! She did not use Linky, but did leave a comment with the the to her layout.  I want to share that with you all now!! Click on the image to go to the original post at ScrapBookBytes. Her inspiration was castle.  (Do not fear Linky!)

Our tools for this week are a little different!! I will be providing you with the color palette for the Jungle Cruise and the font (called Jungle Fever).  I will also be providing you with a free word art that I created using this font and some elements from Connie's Animal Crackers Zoo Pals elements.

Your mission, should you accept, is to create a layout using this word art!  Okay.. I know everyone hasn't been to Disney yet (why not????) so I am going to throw in some of my photos from the Jungle Cruise ride.  You may feel free to use these photos for this contest. (Using my photos is NOT a requirement.) 

Once your layout is created, you can upload the link to our post using the little Linky tool.  If you have any trouble at all, please feel free to drop me an email at coyotelady(at)mac.com.  You will have all week to work on your layouts. Once Linky turns off, no more layouts will be accepted.  One lucky winner will receive a $5 coupon to Connie's store!  

The winner will be selected using the random tool.  I will include all of your layouts in next week's post.  Both Connie and I are really looking forward to seeing some participation this week.  So let's get started with those tools!

There are two Jungle Fever fonts available at 1001fonts.com. The top font is Jungle Fever Regular NF. The bottom font is Jungle Fever Inline NF. They are on the same page so I would grab them both while you are there. Click on the font sample image or the words 1001fonts.com. A new window will open for you to download the fonts.

The color palette for the Jungle Cruise is next up. It is not absolutely necessary you follow the color palette, but it does give a great starting point.  While this color palette works great with the sign, you'll find lots of greens and animal shades on the ride itself.  (Right click on the color palette and select the save as option to save the color palette.)

While we are talking about the ride, I would like to interject that there was a time this was a very serious ride based on Disney's True Life Adventure Series.  Since Animal Kingdom has opened, and there are "real" animals at the park, Jungle Cruise has fallen from serious to downright comedic. Jungle Cruise is believed to be the funniest ride in DisneyWorld. The boat narrator will go through a number of jokes during your ride.  You can read many of these "jokes" here.   Bad jokes included, it can be a nice ride and the displays still hold merit. Jungle Cruise is one of the Fastpass rides and does operate in the evening.  Actually, I want to ride it in the evening some time if only to see how it is handled. Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs may remain in them for the ride. The ride itself is just a little over 9 minutes long.

More About Chris:I have been married for 14 years to the man of my dreams and I have two beautiful children, Makayla (12) and Josh (8) . We have 1 dog, 2 old kitties and a 25 year old Cockatiel.

I love to bake pies, cookies and cakes. I really enjoy exercising ab workouts including planks are my favorite and I find Yoga to be incredibly relaxing. One of my new favorite workouts is kickboxing. I love to travel and we are fortunate enough to take several long weekends together and then normally we take a family vacation. I love to play around with photography and I can't wait to get my new camera:) Scrapbooking has been a wonderful way for me to document so many memories that would probably be forgotten over the years. I just love it!
