Sunday Funday!

Hey everyone!  So we have snow. How about you?  Such an awesome spring, huh? So much for global warming!

I'm sure you all recognize this.  Yep. It was last week's Jigsaw Puzzle.  You ladies are just too funny.  Listing out all those Fashionista kits!  Really, the week before, there were different kits involved.  I would have been quite content with Fashionista.  But each and every email brought a smile to my face this week, Thanks for that.  Between Sammy recovering and Chrissy needing to visit the ER, I was taking every smile I could get! Getting back to the layout, isn't it awesome?  And Fashionista was the PERFECT kit choice.  Minnie never looked so good!

I suppose you want to know the results from Randomizer.  Congratulations to Brenda Powers! I'll be sending all the coupons out once I publish this post.

It's so hard for me to get away from Jigsaw Puzzles. For one, more of you respond to those.  I receive all sorts of comments on the puzzles.  And featuring layouts is an added bonus for me.  So let's do one more before I switch to something different.

On to this week's Jigsaw Puzzle!  Like the last one,  I would like for you to solve the puzzle and then email me the kit(s) used to create the layout!  Hint: the layout is in the Gotta Pixel gallery.   You should email your answer to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com by Friday, April 3, 2015 at 9 PM Eastern Time.  Like always.. everyone who plays along with me will receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store. Everyone with the correct response will be placed into the list randomizer and one lucky duck will receive a $10 coupon to Connie's store.

Reminder: the Jigsaw Puzzle does require Flash so don't try it on your mobile devices.  It can be completely right here on Connie's blog.  Did I cover everything? So let's move on to the puzzle!

I have to say, when I saw this layout in the gallery, I had to smile. I remember exactly where the photos are from at Disney World! The layout is perfect.  I hope you all agree. When you stop by the gallery, leave a little love.

Wishing you all a great week as we move into April.  I will see you next Sunday Funday!

Sunday Funday!

Hi everyone!!  Spring has sprung. The robins are bouncing around the front yard.  And it is still only going to be a high of 28 degrees here in Chardon.  Tomorrow we are having a heat wave. It is supposed to reach all of 33 degrees!  How are things in your neck of the woods?

From all the responses, it seems you all really love these Jigsaw Puzzles.  So why mess with a good thing, right? I found another awesome Disney layout cruising Connie's Gotta Pixel Gallery. (You all know Connie is no longer at ScrapbookBytes and that they are closing shop on April 1, yes?) I have run it through the jigsaw creator and here is this week's puzzle for you:

No, I haven't forgotten. Just changing up my order a little today. The winner for last week's Jigsaw Puzzle. First, let's see that layout by Tammy Morgan
 Epcot by Tammy Morgan

You all know how easy I can be, right?  I was giving out second chances this week because some of you only listed the main kit, and not the other bits and pieces!  The kit was Marching Band. Tammy also used some bits and pieces from Tweet Love and For You and the Razzle Dazzle Alpha. Awesome layout, Tammy!

Can't stand the suspense anymore? Okay okay!  The winner of the random drawing is Zanthia.  I'll be sending out your coupons shortly.

As in the past,  I would like for you to solve the puzzle and then email me the kit(s) used to create the layout!  Hint: the layout is in the Gotta Pixel gallery.   You should email your answer to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com by Friday, March 27, 2015 at 9 PM Eastern Time.

You can always drop me a note if I did.

Sunday Funday - Winner Announcement and new Jigsaw Puzzle

We need to drop back to March 1, 2015.  So sorry I seemed to disappear on March 8th.  Long story short - my computer was just not functioning. Had to wipe it clean and start over because it wouldn't restore the system. I keep hoping I didn't go through all of this because of the outage Apple experienced.  It had to start somewhere.. before it was horrible.  The worse thing was not receiving my email from Connie the other day! The folks at the Apple Store said that was most likely residual from the outages.  I actually did FINALLY get those emails, which were received with a Woot!

So...  here is the layout I had used for your Jigsaw Puzzle.  And I have to say that Lynn's comment on the blog post brought a smile to my face.  Like Lynn, I had all kinds of reservations about the movie, Maleficent.  I admit it is still very difficult for me to accept Maleficent ever being a Fairy. You all probably know my favorite character is Maleficent.  Anyhow.. it is a Disney spectacular!  Very well done. Everyone should see it with an open mind.  Lynn, we own it as well!!

 Maleficent Layout by 3BluEyedBabies

The three kits used:  Beneath the Beauty, Friends for Life Mini Kit, and the Vivacious Violet Alpha Freebie - all from Connie. Drum roll please......  congratulations went out to Kelly Morrow who was the randomly selected entrant to win the $10 coupon for Connie's store.  I did send out the coupons on March 9th.

I was cruising through the gallery looking for a layout for our Jigsaw and I happened on this from CT Snowowl using the Magical Place Mini Kit by Connie.  Love the layout, but I thought all those photographs would make for a really tough jigsaw. I did think the layout was worthy of some love, so please stop by  snowowl's gallery.

On to this week's Jigsaw Puzzle!  Like the last one,  I would like for you to solve the puzzle and then email me the kit(s) used to create the layout!  Hint: the layout is in the Gotta Pixel gallery.   You should email your answer to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com by Friday, March 20, 2015 at 9 PM Eastern Time.  Like always.. everyone who plays along with me will receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store. Sunday Funday! We're hunting for a hidden element this week!

Looks like you all did well with the 81 pieces of last week's JigSaw Puzzle!!  Everyone had the right answer - Razzle Dazzle! Here is the solution to the Jigsaw.

The winner of the $10 coupon this week is Sandra Grimm! Coupons have been sent at the time of this posting to everyone!

I know you all love those Jigsaw Puzzles, but we've done those for several weeks running now and I did promise something different this week!  We are going to do a find the element this week!  You guessed it. One element. That is all you need to find for me. Here is the layout using the new release, {Hues} Pretty Pink.  I just love those {Hues} collections!!

As you can see, I did quite a bit of blending with the Messy Papers from {Hues} Pretty Pink.  I didn't use much in the layout. There is nothing hidden in the Word Art. The element you are looking for is NOT in there!  In case you need to make sure your found element is not in the word art, you can check here.  I have played with opacity, of course!

DropBox has made a change. That said,  my image is linked to a full size version that is on my One Drive. You will be able to download it from there.  When you find the hidden element (which is from the {Hues} Pretty Pink kit), circle it and return your JPG to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com.

By now you all know that if you play along, you receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store. And one lucky ducky with the correct answer is chose using the Randomizer to receive a $10 coupon to Connie's store.  Please return your answers no later than Friday, February 20, 2015 at 9 PM Eastern. If you have any questions,  feel free to drop me an email.

Happy Hunting!!

Sunday Funday! We are going for 81 pieces this week!

It's Sunday again!!  Time for a little fun.  Though I must say that Connie's On Stage release created quite the stir! Apparently there was a need for this type of kit!!  The enthusiasm and comments have been so very positive.  And Susan has just been busting at the seams!!  I am really looking forward to seeing some layouts from this month's Grab Bag - On Stage.

Last week's Jigsaw Puzzle was Meeting Mulan from CT CindyB. And yes... the kit was Chinese New Year, a collab between Designs by Connie Prince and Meagan's Creations.

This week's winner of the $10 coupon is Jody Smith!!  You all should have your coupons by the time you read this post.

Okay.. we are going to do one more jigsaw.  This week, we are going to try the 81 pieces, hard.  (No jigsaws the week after, I promise!! )  Reminder: you need Flash, so don't try to use a mobile device. Use a computer. The 81 pieces may load slower for you.  Though on a test I did, it loaded pretty darn quick, but this will depend on your internet speed.  Have your answers mailed to me coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com  by Friday, Feb. 13th.  (Oh my... Friday the 13th!!)  All you need to mail me is which kit was used to create the layout used for the jigsaw.  The layout will be found in the Gotta Pixel gallery.  There's your hint!  Everyone who plays along will receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store.   And I will place all those who guess the correct kit into the randomizer... and the randomizer will pick who gets the $10 coupon!!   Ready???  Here we go!!

If you have any questions, go ahead and drop me an email. Don't post your answers in the comments though!! Wishing you all a super week!!

Sunday Funday! It's been awhile since we had a Hidden Element!

It's that time of week again!  Time to have a little fun.  So did you all love last week's jigsaw puzzle? The photo really was from Disney World. Just can't tell you which restaurant at this point!  There are a number of Disney restaurants that serve awesome turkey dinners!  Liberty Tree Inn comes to mind.

So here is the image used last week. The only thing missing is stuffing!!  I put all of your entries into the List Randomizer and this week's winner is KAREN ROBINSON!  Congratulations, Karen.

For this week, I have used Connie's "Santa's Helper" to create a layout.  I have hidden two elements from "Santa's Helper" in this layout.  Just two!  Can you believe that?? It's true!  You need to find both of those elements!  Here's the layout, which is one of the many, many trees that can be seen around Disney World at this time of year.

If you think you need to see this layout at full size (3600 x 3600), you can click here to download the full size image.  TWO ELEMENTS!   I must be in the holiday spirit or something!   Since it's been awhile since we had a hidden element (or Mickey), circle the two elements and return the image to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com by Friday, December 5th at 9 PM Eastern time. Everyone who submits the correct answers will receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store.  I'll place everyone with correct answers into the List Randomizer and one lucky person will receive a $10 coupon.

I have to apologize to Glori.  I must have been interrupted while sending out coupons last week.  I logged on to find Glori's email still sitting in the Draft section.  I was mortified!  Glori is scheduled to be a Guest CT in December.  BUT... I already made a note on my calendar to send her a $1 coupon to make up for the one I missed.  I really am so very sorry, Glori.   If anyone doesn't receive a coupon one week, don't be shy!!  Drop me an email or track me down on Facebook. Anything!  I really do try my best to get those coupons out to everyone.  So don't hesitate!

With December quickly approaching, who all has been decorating for the holiday??

Sunday Funday! New Hidden Mickey Layout!

Just the other day we were tearing another page off the calendar. Can you believe it is already August?  This year is just flying by.  One thing I would like to know from our readers - who went to DisneyLand or DisneyWorld this year?  Inquiring minds want to know!  Leave a comment below, please.

As for the jigsaw puzzle last week, you all did great!  Again, new names participated. I am always so happy to see new names and hope you make my little game a regular for your Sunday internet travels.

Here is the kit I put through the jigsaw puzzle maker.  Everyone sent me the correct answer: Project 2014 May: Life of Adventure.  You all rock!  Better be careful or I'll add some pieces to that puzzle maker.  I bet you are wondering who the lucky duck is this week?  Drumroll please....  KendiRN70!
Congratulations.  All coupons were sent out last evening.

It's time for another Hidden Mickey Search.  Still feeling a little guilty over my last hidden puzzle, I promise you I never touched the opacity when placing a Mickey Head!  I went with color and size this time.  I hid 17 assorted Mickey Heads. Some are just outlines.  I would like you to find 13 this week.
 Linked to 3600x3600 version

Same as always. You can click on the image to get a 3600x3600 version of my layout.  Circle the Mickey Heads. Send your circled version back to me at coyotelady(at)mac(dot)com.  You must have at least 13 out of 17 to be entered into the random drawing.  Everyone that plays along will receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store.  One lucky duck will be randomly drawn to receive the $10 coupon to Connie's store.

As for my layout, I used Connie's "Under the Sea".   The autograph is an extraction from our autograph collection.   It's a really fun kit that every Disney fan should own.

New Hidden Mickey Puzzle

Sure hope you all had a very safe and  Happy Fourth of July!!  I don't know about where you all live, but it's been fantastic weather here, which made the weekend all the more enjoyable!

The answer to last week's puzzle is "Cozy".   I do love the colors. Congratulations are in order for Karen A. who was chosen by the randomizer for the $10 coupon.  For those of you who do not know, I use the List Randomizer at randomizer.org.

On to the Trivia portion of last week's fun....

(1) Who is the only Disney character to have an "official" middle name?
Donald Duck

(2) What is the full name of that character, including the middle name?
Donald Fauntleroy Duck

(3) Who is this characters sister?
Della "Dumbella" Duck

(4) Lastly, what is the "real" birthday of this character?
March 13, 1914

Bekki - congrats on the Dumbella response!! You were the only one to give that response (which is actually the one I was hoping for!! I did give credit for Della. )

As for the birthday - Bekki and Brenda were the only ones to respond with the correct information. June 9, 1934 was the day Donald debuted in the Silly Symphony carton, "The Wise Little Hen". Logic tells us that he couldn't have been born and debut that same day. Right??   Rather than try to re-write this information, I urge you all to go read this page for the logic behind the actual birthdate!  Click here:

Amazing that Donald Duck celebrated his 100th birthday this year on March 13!!
I hope you all enjoyed this little bit of Disney Trivia and puzzle!
Coupons were sent out Saturday evening.

With the release of Connie's Super Hero kit, I couldn't resist doing a layout of My. Incredible and my husband arm wrestling.   Of course I threw in some Hidden Mickeys!! Seventeen (17) of them to be truthful.  Your mission - find at least 14 of those Hidden Mickeys.   Download the layout, circle the Hidden Mickeys and email your entry to coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com.  If you would like the full size version of the JPG, click here.

Everyone that plays along and submits an entry with the correct answers will received a $1 coupon to Connie's store.  All correct entries will be put into the randomizer and one lucky duck will receive a $10 coupon! Deadline is July 11th at 8 PM.

Happy hunting!! You are all getting to good and I tried to make this one a bit harder!!

Another Puzzle and Trivia Question. Last week's winner announced.

I was really impressed with all the new folks who participated in last week's puzzle.  Everyone had the correct answer, which was Sailor Duck!!

I ran all of your names through the randomizer and the winner of the $10 coupon is H Corell.  Congratulations! I will sending out all of the participation coupons and the winning coupon as soon as I receive them from Connie.

There was quite a bit of positive feedback on the Jigsaw Puzzle.  And a few requests to go with 49 pieces.  So we are going to give the 49 piece puzzle a whirl this week.

I almost wasn't able to run the puzzle as the server was down.  This meant that the puzzle did not show on the blog.  Remember that the puzzle can take a little to load, but if a white box continues, wait a little and come on back. (In fact, I have next week's puzzle all done waiting for the server to come back!  (Hint: Where in Disney Work were these photos taken.)

Remember to email your answers to coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com.  Your answer should be sent by July 4th at 9:00 PM EST.  We are looking for the kit name.  Again, if you have any trouble using the puzzle, drop me an email.  Reminder: The puzzle maker uses flash and will not function properly on most mobile devices.  Participation coupons in the amount of $1 will be sent to everyone who participates. Everyone with the correct answer will be run through the randomizer and one lucky duck will receive a $10 coupon to Connie's store!

Trivia Question: (1) Who is the only Disney character to have an "official" middle name? (2) What is the full name of that character, including the middle name? (3) Who is this characters sister? (4) Lastly, what is the "real" birthday of this character?  Mail your answers to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com. All portions to your answer must be correct!  If you have all the correct answers, you will be run through the randomizer and  the first five names in the randomizer will receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store.  There is not a participation prize for this Trivia portion.

Something a little different this week!! Solve the puzzle and name the kit!

Last week's puzzle was rather interesting! I do read your comments and your emails. Though I must admit that I have also spent more time than I care to admit to cruising through all the pages of Connie's store on one site or another. So I can sympathize. I was even nice and chose recently released kits!! My layout was indeed created using Wedding Day. The elements that did not belong were flowers from Social Butterfly. That said... the randomizer indicates that last week's winner is Bekki!! Click here if you would like to refer back to last week's post.

So this week we are going to try something a little different!!  I picked one of Connie's kits and ran it through this really cool Jigsaw Puzzle creator.  I have been very kind and set it to 25 pieces.  (But I was considering 49!)  I also removed the name of the kit so when you assemble the puzzle, the name won't be there!   All you need to do is email the name of the kit to coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com.  Your answer should be sent by June 27th at 9:00 PM Eastern.

Caution!  The puzzle uses Flash and will not work on many mobile systems.
Note: The area where you work the puzzle is actually larger than the puzzle.  If you have any questions about the puzzle, drop me an email.

A little Disney trivia. The renown "Partners" statue  located in the hub is nearly as iconic as Cinderella's Castle.  While Walt was alive, he was very adamant that he never wanted a statue of himself made and certainly not one that would be placed in any theme park. For decades after his death, his wife Lillian continued to honor Walt's wish.

Some 20 years after Walt's death,  fearful that Walt was being forgotten by a new generation that had not seen Walt on TV every week, it was decided that there needed to be a reminder in the park of the man who had started it all.  The Partners statue was unveiled in DisneyWorld in June, 1995. (It was first released in DisneyLand in 1993.)

It is said that at certain times of the day (which changes seasonally), the shadow cast by the Partner's statue creates a  Hidden Mickey.  As for the ring on Walt's right hand - it is an Irish Claddagh ring. He and Lillian bought the claddagh rings for each other on a trip to Ireland and both wore them daily.   It is not a Hidden Mickey.

Snow White Hidden Elements Key. New challenge: What kits did I use??

Can you believe another week has passed already?  Where does the time go??

I am so glad you all have fun with these Hidden Elements puzzles.  Let's start off with the key for last week and the winner of the $10 coupon!!

The winner of the $10 coupon is Zanthia!!  Congratulations!!  I will be sending out the coupons to everyone shortly!

We haven't done one of these challenges in a long time now.  So let's do something a little different this week!   While Andy and Chrissy did not get married in Disney World, they did take their honeymoon in Disney World!  The wedding ears and hat are just adorable!

The challenge is two parts today.   (1) What kit did I use to scrap this layout?   (2) There are two elements that don't belong with this kit.  What kit do they belong?  Please  - don't post your answers in the comments!  Send them to me at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com.  Everyone who plays along will receive a $1 coupon. Those with the correct answers will be put in the randomizer and one lucky person will win a $10 coupon to Connie's store!!

Lastly, I have that Snow White frame ready for you.  Please note that the image of Snow White and her Prince is an extraction from one of my parade photos. The autograph is also an extraction from my collection.  All other elements are from Designs by Connie Prince.  The frame is for personal use only.  Thank you!!

Wishing you all a marvelous week!!

Sunday, June 8, 2014

Morning!! It's time for Hidden Elements again!!

When I learned that Connie was releasing Mirror Mirror, I was very excited. I had to contain myself not to do a Snow White Hidden Elements until after the kit released!!  And yes.. you guessed it! Our next frame will be Snow White!!  I will be working on her today.

So... here is the key to last week's puzzle.  You all did absolutely awesome finding those hidden Mickey's!   The winner of the $10 coupon for last week is Bekki!   I will be sending the coupons out as soon as I get this post finished!

Trashed, Tattered and Torn has always been one of my favorite kits from Designs by Connie Prince. Who knew you could use it to scrap Disney memories??  I cannot stress enough - it's all about color. Matching color palettes to your photos.

For this week, I already said it is Snow White.   I hid 12 Mickey's about my layout today.  Your challenge is to find 10 of those!!   Be sure to get me your circled JPGS by Friday the 13th at 9:00 PM.
I am living on the edge with that one!  Send your submissions to coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com.

I do love Mirror Mirror.  Including the little deer, bunny and birds was awesome!! For Snow White is loved by all the forest creatures. Including those Seven Dwarves!  So I had to include Dopey with my layout.  The embossed papers are really special for this kit.

On the subject of Friday the 13th - this will be a very special one!!  Not only will it be Friday the 13th, there will be a FULL MOON!  This doesn't happen very often at all.  The last time there was a FULL MOON on Friday the 13th was Oct 13, 2000!! And this will not happen again until August 13, 2049!

Thanks for playing along with me every week.

Sunday, June 1, 2014

Happy June!

Please allow me to apologize to those who were waiting to be notified when the hidden elements challenge was completed last week.  I had been in the hospital and didn't anticipate being quite so wiped out to be honest.  Connie and I have coupons for those of you who commented.  I was able to get these out to:  Bekfek, KarenA and Heather Higgs.  There was no email references in the comments for:  Amy, Jennifer Moore, Brenda, MOPSMommies, Tupperstamper and Melissa. If you send me your email to coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com, I will get that coupon to you straight away!!

The good news is.... the hidden elements challenge is ready!!  You saw the original layout.  We are going with King Neptune!!

I tucked away 15 different little hidden Mickeys, including that Sorcerer Mickey. Your mission is to find at least 12 of them for me.  Circle your finds and send me the results at coyotelady(at)gmail(dot) com.  All entries should be received by June 6th at 9 PM please.   Everyone who plays receives a $1 coupon, and then I'll toss all the correct entries into the randomizer for some lucky duck to receive the  $10 coupon.

If you would like a 3600 x 3600 full size to search, click on the image and your download should begin immediately. If you have any problems with the download, please let me know!

I do hope my layout has given new inspiration to your Disney scrapping. There are so many wonderful things to see and do at Disney. And then scrap!!

The bad news, I really wasn't up to the hidden challenge as you know. So creating that new Princess frame, didn't happen yet.   I am so glad you are enjoying the frames so far. And I do want them to be nice for you.  I am getting better everyday and hope to have the new frame for you next week.

Wishing you a wonderful first week of June!!

Sunday, May 25, 2014

Sunday Funday!!

You guys really love looking for those hidden things!!  That's a couple of times now that I have given you the option to find one particular item and then you are golden. But no! Most all of you found the Hidden Sorcery Mickey and said you had to keep on going!  LOL   I love you, ladies!!

So, let's start off with the key to last week's puzzle!

I ran you all through the randomizer and it says this week's winner of the $10 coupon is.........

Zanthia

I will be sending all the coupons out soon as I get this post underway.  I also mentioned that I would have a special freebie for you this week!! I'm going to be working my way through the Princesses. This week, we have Ariel!

Just click on that image and your download should start up immediately.  I didn't place any shadow on the entire cluster.  I thought I would leave that all up to you.  There are shadows for depth on the inner elements only.

I hope you all enjoy Princess Ariel!!  And this did indeed prove to be a challenge on my extraction skills!

I must apologize about this next part.  This is supposed to be a hidden element challenge. However, I do not have access to my little hidden ellies right now.  So what I have is the original layout to share with you.  When I get home, I'll go ahead and hide the elements, update the instructions and post.
If you want to play along, please leave a comment and I will personally notify you when the hidden version has been posted!! Should be Monday evening, Tuesday latest.

This is the King Neptune Fountain at the Italy Pavilion in Epcot Center, Disney World.  Isn't it beautiful?  There is so very much to see at Disney!  I used one of my old time favorite kits from Connie - Trashed, Tattered & Torn.  Thinking back to the beginning of my posts, you may remember that I try to match color. I do not always scrap Disney in bright, primary colors.  As you can see, I have a pretty nice statuary finish in which to hide my little Mickeys.

I will also be working on another Princess Cluster Frame for you next week!  Feel free to leave your guesses as to which Princess is next!!

Again.. leave me a comment and I will send you when I update with the hidden version!  This one should prove to be a challenge!

Lady and the Tramp Hidden Elements

So here's a little challenge for you.  Two part this week!  I used two of Connie's kits for this challenge.  (Hint:  I assure you that they were released in 2014! I won't make you go way back into the archives this time around.)  Part one - tell me those two kits!

From those two kits, I carefully hid 12  elements.   You should find me at least 7 of those!   Everyone who plays along will receive a $1 coupon to Connie's store.  Send me all the right answers (two kits and at least 7 locations of hidden elements) and you will be entered for a random drawing and receive a $10 coupon to Connie's store.  Easy peasy!?!

I'm also working on something special to send along with that $1 coupon.  Email your answers to coyotelady at gmail dot com.

Forgot to tell you that I would like all of your answers by Friday, April 11th at 9:00 PM please!
If you would like the 3600x3600 file, it is available here! (I thought I had uploaded high res. Sorry!)

Wishing you all a wonderful week.

Sunday, March 30, 2014

Happy Sunday

I know I said there would be good things today.  And I'm really sorry I haven't been able to do more for you this week.   I do hope you'll be happy with my Freebie Quick Page created using Once Upon A Time from Connie.  Click on the image to start your download.

I should be back to normal for next Sunday.  Wishing you all a wonderful week.

What Disney Snack Are You? Hidden Mickey Key for 03-16-14

I love all your comments last week!  It's very inspiring.  Makes me even sadder that my computer is in for repairs.  I did plan ahead and posted a quick draft with the key.  Saw some new players this week which is fantastic!  Please hang with us in the weeks to come.

The random winner is Erica Elwell.  Congratulations!!  I have sent out all coupons. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

Without my computer, I am not able to create any hidden challenges.  Or freebies.  I thought I would find something to share but I am so totally helpless without my computer.  That said, next week will be filled with goodies!!

Key to the 03-02-14 Hidden Elements

The good news is that everyone that sent me an entry, found at least 10 of the hidden Mickey's.   I will be sending off your coupons as soon as I receive them from Connie. It's her BIRTHDAY weekend!!  Her men folk stole her on Friday night; she did a Zumbathon on Saturday and then off to celebrate her birthday with family.

Our $10 winner (chosen at random.org) is Sandra Grimm!   Congratulations, Sandra! I'll  be sending you your coupon shortly as well.

I am really proud of you all for finding so many of those Hidden Mickey's!!  A couple of you have mentioned to me having kids and grandkids help.  I think this is great!!

The bad news is.. the stuffed Mickey that several of you found tucked in that ladies' bag does NOT count. I didn't put it there! Nor does the lamp post globes count!  Same reason.  But good catches. You all are too funny!!   I hope you can see my circles all right. I placed nice BIG numbers by each of the circles.  Oh! As I recall, only one person found the Mickey on the tip of Flower's nose. I admit. That one was  sneaky.

Chrissy and Andy are home from Disney.  They did not get to see Elsa and Anna (the Frozen Princesses) because the waits were UP TO 8 HOURS!  The line ran from Norway to Mexico!  The kids said Cast Members were stationed to allow 20 foot breaks in the line so other guests could get through to Maelstrom and the gift shop.

Apparently, many Louisiana residents are not fond of Mardi Gras.  They go to Disney World to escape the Mardi Gras guests!  There were also a number of school age kids from Cheerleading teams  in attendance.  These two large groups of people made for a busy Disney during what is ordinarily considered "off-season".

The kids received  customized "Magic Bands" along with their confirmation and luggage tags, etc.  According to the Disney site, these are still in the experimental stage.  They are apparently ready for full "roll out" according to other sources.  The kids said most everyone had the "Magic Bands" except those people with "day passes".

The "Magic Bands" are your room key, your access to the park (finger print ID is still required as in the past), you can charge to your room with the "Magic Band",  they are your access to FastPass + and I believe Chrissy said their "Magic Bands" were also their id's for her Memory Maker.  I can't wait for her to access that online.   (She did receive the park prints for her character meals at Cinderella's Castle and also Akershus.)

The coolest thing is how FastPass+ works with My Disney Experience!  The kids made ALL of their FastPass+ "reservations" through My Disney Experience. You can also make restaurant and entertainment reservations through My Disney Experience but Chrissy made her reservations ahead of time.  You sign up for My Disney Experience at Disney.com. There are also apps to further enhance this feature!    In the past, you had to actually go to the park, go to the FastPass eligible ride you wanted a Fastpass for, get your FastPass (if they were still available) then return to the ride at your appointed time. Chrissy planned her day out and did all their Fastpass+ arranging before they left their room for the day!!  They did tell me that the lines at the FastPass machines in the parks were still crazy long!  Hopefully, this will change as people learn to take advantage of My Disney Experience.

More and more rides are becoming accessible via the FastPass system.  There are 40 attractions listed for Magic Kingdom at Disney.com.  19 of those are currently set up with FastPass+.  FastPass+ attractions at Magic Kingdom include The Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Haunted Mansion, It's A Small World, Jungle Cruise, Mad Tea Party, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Monster, Inc. Laugh Floor, Peter Pan's Flight, Pirates of the Caribbean,  Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the The Little Mermaid.

This was the first time the kids were able to actually ride Tomorrowland Speedway. FastPass+ made that possible!  Looking over the list of attractions, I think Disney pretty much has all the "popular" rides covered.

Oh! The kids also say there are many accessories already available for these "Magic Bands".  They come to you already waterproof.  There are slip on covers and sliders.  And you know those little things you can get for Crocs?  You can get those for Magic Bands as well!! There are lanyards.   And I just bet you can buy some glow in the dark accessories as well!   Yep! A quick google search and there you have it!! Glow in the dark magic band accessories!!  Do I know Disney or what??

Whew!  Now I'm all excited about going to Disney World again!   So,  I must admit that I have been really tuckered out since starting Physical Therapy after my knee surgery.   Which means  I don't have anything fun this week.  However, I promise I will do both a hidden search AND a freebie next week!  Feel free to leave comments on what sort of Disney freebie you would be interested in and I'll be glad to see I can accommodate!

Until next week...

Topiary and Hidden Mickeys

Chrissy is in Disney World! And sending texts back home now and then.  I was amused to receive this text earlier. They stopped at Gaston's Tavern and were sharing the "Signature Drink".  Chrissy sent this picture with a note that hidden Mickey's were in their drink!!

Ok.. I can see a couple. But then I see faces in orchids. And I have seen Hidden Mickey's in water while at Disney World. Do they really put them there or does it just happen that lilypads form a Mickey Head. Or.. are we so in awe of Disney that we see Mickey Heads everywhere??

There is still time for me to talk more about the International Flower and Garden Festival so let's take a little break.  I received a recipe from the Disney Food Blog in my email that I just have to share!!

Disney Recipe of the Month:
Strawberry Twists from
Maurice's Treats, Disneyland
Image
The twists at Maurice's Treats are SO good! Bring the taste of Disneyland sweets to your home with these Strawberry Twists!
Makes 6
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 (17.3-ounce) box (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • Powdered sugar, for garnish
Preparation:
  1. Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mash mixture with a potato masher until the berries are softened and sugar is dissolved.
  2. Increase heat to high, and bring the mixture to a full rolling boil. Boil, stirring often to prevent mixture from sticking to pan, until thick, about 5 minutes. Cool to room temperature.
  3. Place one sheet of puff pastry onto a lightly floured, movable, flat surface, such as a lightweight cutting board. Lightly dust surface of pastry with flour and roll to smooth creases.
  4. Spread pastry sheet with 1/3 cup of the strawberry mixture. (Refrigerate any remaining strawberry mixture for up to 5 days.)
  5. Roll the second sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth creases; place on top of first sheet and press down gently.
  6. Place filled puff pastry in refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a nonstick silicone mat.
  8. Using a ruler as a guide, cut into pastry into 1 1/2-inch strips. Carefully pick up strips and place on baking sheets, twisting 3 times before laying down.
  9. Bake 20 to 22 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Cool 10 minutes and finish with a dusting of powdered sugar.
Cook's Note: You may substitute 1/3 cup store-bought strawberry jam.

There are also Chocolate Twists, which I would LOVE the recipe for.  Who doesn't love chocolate?? More photos and reviews can be read on the Disney Food Blog.

Talking about Mickey Heads.... we have another challenge for you this week!!  I made a layout with some of the wonderful topiary from Disney World and then hid 19 Mickey Heads.  Some are pretty hard to find (IMHO), so you only need to find 10 of those Mickey Heads in order to be eligible for the $10 prize one random person will receive. Play along with me and you'll receive $1 coupon just because we love Connie's fans!!

The only hint I can offer is the Mickey Heads are an assortment to be sure!!  They are small and often have an opacity adjustment. Happy Hunting!!

How adorable are those topiaries?  The image I uploaded to the blog is 1200x1200. You are welcome to download this version.  You may want a full size version of 3600x3600 to look for those hidden Mickeys!  Click here for the full size on my DropBox.  If you have any trouble, drop me an email.  I would like for you to circle the Hidden Mickeys and send me that jpg file to coyotelady(at)gmail(dot)com. Please make sure to get these to me no later than March 7th at 9:00 PM EST.

The papers are from Hop To It and the Alpha is from Ready For Spring alpha add ons.  As always, your comments are welcomed!!

The 21st International Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot

Epcot's 21st International Flower and Garden Festival has been announced for March 5 to May 18, 2014 and will bring higher than normal crowds into Epcot. Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck will celebrate spring with a butterfly hunt adventure in the front entrance garden.  Topiaries will decorate Epcot throughout.  Many of the gardens will now be illuminated when the sun sets. Tinkerbell's Butterfly House will feature hundreds of the winged beauties and intricate fairy topiaries including Tink, Fawn and Terrence.

With all the added festivities, Epcot will warrant full day(s) during this expo.  So I thought I would talk about places where you can grab breakfast at Epcot. There aren't all that many! So if these don't suit your taste, schedule your breakfast at your resort that day.  Most of the resorts have quick service type eateries available.

Fountainview Starbucks Coffee - In addition to all of those Lattes and Frappuccinos,  there are some  breakfast sandwiches.

Sunshine Seasons located in The Land, Future World, has a bit more variety. Bacon, eggs, oatmeal, and french toast for the kids.  There is also a breakfast croissant.

Princess Storybook Breakfast at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway offers a character breakfast. Be prepared to spend a little extra time for a character meal.  Reservations are recommended and breakfast hours are 8:00 AM to 11:10 AM.   Reserve for 8:00 AM, have a wonderful breakfast, meet some Princesses and then enjoy the festivities in the park. Buffet style dining that is sure to please. Autographs and photo opportunities are plentiful.

Epcot is open 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, however the World Showcase hours are 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.  Hence the shortage of breakfast venues in Epcot.  My best recommendation is to make your reservations for a day when evening Magic Hours apply.  Start off with an early breakfast at the Akershus, taking your time to enjoy the experience. (Kids not required if you are traveling only with adults. Heck.. I'm a big kid when it comes to these character meals!)

I would then take a leisurely stroll around the World Showcase and check out all of the topiaries.  Maybe sample an outside kitchen or two in my travels.  Believe it or not, I would find the topiaries far more enticing than food.   I have been behind the scenes and saw first hand what goes into creating those topiaries.  Ok, Disney has great food,  But, I'd be so full from that breakfast.. I wouldn't really  want to eat more.  Here is a partial list of topiaries coming up this year:

  • Mickey, Minnie and Pluto  Located behind Spaceship Earth
  • Disney•Pixar Buzz Lightyear   Located near Mission Space
  • Mater's Parts, Plants & Play Garden   Located at Test Track Walkway
  • Phineas and Ferb   Located at Odyssey Bridge
  • Mike & Sulley's Monstrous Garden   Located at Imagination Walkway
  • Fantasia  Located at World Showcase Plaza
  • Bambi and Friends  Located at the Canada Pavilion
  • Peter Pan and Captain Hook  Located at the United Kingdom Pavilion
  • Winnie the Pooh & Friends  Located at the United Kingdom Pavilion
  • Classic Disney Couples  Located at International Gateway and the bridge to the France Pavilion
  • Beauty and the Beast  Located at the France Pavilion
  • Disney•Pixar Toy Story Characters – Woody & Lotso  Located at The American Adventure Pavilion
  • Lady and the Tramp  Located at the Italy Pavilion
  • Kermit the Frog & Miss Piggy – NEW!  Located between the Italy Pavilion and the Germany Pavilion
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs  Located at the Germany Pavilion
  • The Lion King  Located at the Outpost between the Germany Pavilion and the China Pavilion
  • Soccer Goofy  Located at the bridge between Future World and World Showcase
  • Spring Is in the Air!  Located at the Main Entrance
  • Pandas  Located at the China Pavilion
  • Troll   Located at the Norway Pavilion
I have photos of many lovely topiaries and  I should really make layouts!  More on the upcoming festivities for the Flower and Garden Festival coming up in future posts!!  Since you all seemed to enjoy last week's freebies, I have a couple more for you. (Several different kits from Connie were used.)   Who knows... I may just make a topiary layout into a hidden element challenge... or hidden Mickey. Leave me a comment with your preference!

Until next week....
