Sneak Peek Sunday

It's a spectacular (yet mighty hot) Sunday around my part of the USA.  I hope all of you are having a wonderful day so far.  I just want you to know that Connie's blog team appreciates all of you for taking a moment out of your day to see what we have to share with you.  There are a good 30 - 40 of you that we know stop by regularly and we hope we inspire your creativity.  I also want to say, welcome to Connie's corner of the scrapbooking community to our newest blog readers!  We're glad you are here!

I've been scrapping along with some of you at The Studio (also known as DSS here on the blog) in the Beachcomber Layout-A-Day Challenges.  It's been fun to stretch my scrapping wings and I've been surprised at how much I liked the end results on a couple of the challenges.   How about you?  I think one of the things that I've come to like doing is using brushes to make masks and then clip another paper to the mask to blend into the background paper.  I love Connie's Mixed Media paper packs that she has in some of her collections but sometimes I just want the background paper to be messy/artsy without the mixed media elements already as part of the paper.  I think I'm going to be doing more of this type of thing with Connie's papers.  Want to know what I'm talking about?  Here are a couple of examples.

This first one was made with the This Beautiful Life collection.  I took one of her solid papers and added one of the pattern papers on top.  I then used a brush to create a clipping mask to only reveal part of the pattern paper.  I lowers the opacity just a little and the results made a slightly messy paper that I really liked.

This is another layout that  I used the same technique on by mixing two papers from #2019 July to make my background paper.

Have you seen something lately in a layout and you wonder how it was done?  Leave a comment asking about it with a link to a layout if you can that shows us what you are talking about and I'll see if I can find out how it was done so I can describe it to you.

Okay, I hear you, it's Sunday and you stopped by to see a peek at what Connie has coming your way.  Before I show you that, remember to check out this week's July '19 Template Bundle while it's on sale.  The second layout I share above used one of the templates from the White Space Vol. 38 pack in the bundle.

Now here is a look at what will be coming your way this Friday!  So cute! Seriously!

Like what you see?  Check out the Sunday Sneak Peek post on Facebook at Club Connie Prince and leave a comment for a chance to win the kit on new release day!

I have plans to make some little "pick me up" type cards with this collection.  I think those cute little animals are going to star on them.  Maybe they will make my daughter whose at college smile a little when she opens her mail.  I just need to figure out the process to make the cards.

I don't see the sneak peek post on the fan page? Did I miss it somewhere?

Rebecca, I just looked and didn't see it either. Marcia may be on vacation. I'll keep an eye out and post if I see it show up.

The Sunday Sneak peek got posted a little bit late this week. If you'll scroll down a little ways in Club Connie Prince you should find it. You can also type in "Sneak Peek Sunday" in the search box on the left side of the fan page and it will show up too. Hope that helps! Good Luck!
