Somehow I've missed all your comments until tonight. This time of year, I'm at the school until 7 - 9 pm most nights and barely getting home to crash and start all over again at 5:30 the next morning. Let me take a look and see if I can figure something out with the freebie.

I just downloaded the zip file, decompressed it (I use 7zip), pulled the png file into Photoshop and it opened right up. I can't duplicate the issue you have mentioned. Are you downloading the zip file or are you trying to download the individual files instead? I'm honestly at a loss as to why the download isn't working for you.

I am downloading it as a zip file.... will not open when I extract it

We are trying to troubleshoot the issue. I can't get it to replicate on my end but I'm using Photoshop 2025. I just sent the file from the zipped download and the one I have on my EHD from Theresa to Connie to have her compare the two and see if she can figure it out. Technically they are the same file, just one wasn't compressed when the file was zipped up. I've never ran into this before and I'm stumped.

thank you for checking this out

At first I thought there was an error because the preview for the png does not appear not allowing me (assuming for all of us) to preview the file. But I can confirm that I was able to open it in Photoshop CC and once I resaved the image, I can see the preview. Hope that helps.

Thank you for this cute QP!!

I have PSE 2022 and it will not open the file. States file is not supported. Maybe it will only open in photoshop and not PSE

Thanks for stopping back by and letting us know that you were able to get the file to open in Photoshop CC. I've never had this problem where PSE users couldn't get a file to open as PSE and Photoshop are both Adobe products. I'm completely at a loss!

Thought I would let everyone know that I opened the file up in Photopea which is free, saved as a png file. It now opens up correctly and works in PSE.

Lei - I'm glad you got the file to work!!

Susan.....did you save this file as a png, or did you export for web as a png-8 or png-24? I think I may have an idea....the file size for this QP is 63MB however, I checked the file sizes for about a dozen other QP's I've downloaded from the blog and they are all under 20MB. I can say that PSE struggles to open complicated large file sizes since it's not equipped to handle them like PS is. If you wanted to test this theory to see if this is the culprit, open the original file you uploaded and when you export it, save it as a smaller file size (just as the others generally are) and let's see if Lei is able open it.

Great idea! I honestly just downloaded as a png from Theresa and moved that file directly into the folder to upload into Connie's Freebie folder. I didn't change anything from the original file so that may be the culprit. It may be the weekend of May 24th before I can get a chance to try to work with the file but I'll get back to it.

Lei, thanks for letting us know that you found a work around!

As of May 30, 2025, I downloaded this but it would not open. I was first told that it could not be tested for viruses, but I said to go ahead and download without checking. It downloaded from there just fine but would not let me open the png file. I have gotten this virus notice several times over the years from Connie's downloads. Just FYI.
