This week I am thankful for memories. Memories of family, friends, and former students. I've been saying good-byes this week to some of my 6th graders who I'm seeing for the last time. Some of these sweet kids have been with me for 7 years. I've watched them grown from that shy or crazy kindergartner to amazing 6th graders who are about to start the next chapter of their educational journey. Today I also had the opportunity to congratulate and say good-bye to a group of Seniors who came by to say "thank you." Those words held a lot of emotions, joy, relief, pride, hope, and a little bit sad. Their lives are changing and while we may have held our breath at moments with whispered prayers (choir competitions can get a bit intense, ha!) these young adults are going to be amazing everywhere they go. So I'm thankful for those memories. Those moments will always be with us.
Isn't that while we scrapbook? To capture those memories so we can look back and remember those feelings years later? I know that's what got me interested in scrapbooking. While the pictures are great, the stories that go with those photos need to be written.
