More on Push, Maleficent and Freebies!!

Okay.  Now I feel horrible.  Two weeks running that no one could completely solve my challenges.  That can't keep happening!!  The four kits I used to create my layout last week are:

  • {Hues} Vivacious Violets
  • {Hues} Red Hot
  • It's A Girl Thing
  • My Happy Place - the kit no one guessed.   It's still in the stores, perhaps further back in the stores, but hey.. I'm a big Disney Fan so it's one of my "go to" kits.

Only two people submitted responses, each with three of the four kits.  Connie and I decided to split the $10 between them. Coupons have been sent off to Bekki and Melissa already.  Both responded - thank you so very much!!  I have passed your kind words on to Connie.

There was a comment last week from Marcia. "Are you going to see the new movie coming out about Maleficent?"  YES!  I have some reservations because Angelina Jolie is playing Maleficent.   I admit she is not my favorite actress and I am wondering if she can pull off all that Maleficent is.  The new movie, "Maleficent" will be coming to theaters on May 30, 2014.

Maleficent has a certain mystique and evilness - true evilness - that I just don't know if Angelina Jolie can really pull it off in grand Disney style. We shall see. I'll be certain to let you all know what I think. It is really going to have to go some to top my favorite non-animated film which is Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe (2005).  I have always judged Disney movies on their ability to make me cry. (Seriously!)  The Chronicles of Narnia - was awesome. When that Ice Queen (witch) killed Aslan.. oh my did I cry.   Maleficent is currently one of the most recognizable and most popular of the Disney Villains in addition to being one of the franchise's official members.  In other words, the character of Maleficent is a tough act to follow.  Maleficent is an incarnation of pure evil. She is ruthless, devious and will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals. Maleficent is one of the most powerful villains in Disney history. She can unleash the full brunt of her wrath and power with a smile on her face.  And.. most of you probably know she is top of my Disney list of characters I love.  After all, I do use her, along with her pet raven, Diablo, as my avatar around digi-land.

Here are two trailers for those who possible haven't seen them as yet.  This is the trailer we have seen at the movie theaters.

This is another trailer from YouTube.

As you can see, this is NOT an animated movie.  Disney is far from animation only.   According to the Disney Movie Guide, updated daily, the most popular of the non-animated films is  Mary Poppins, 1964. Not far behind is Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, 2003.  Face it.... Johnny Depp is a very believable Captain Jack Sparrow.  And I absolutely love the Pirates Live Show at Disney. I once posted a layout and folks thought it was truly Johnny Depp.  It wasn't. Just one of the face characters.

Do you all remember the difference between Face Characters and Fur Characters?  Fur Characters wear fur costumes and masks.   Face Characters are made up to resemble the character.  The Princesses are all Face Characters.  The Beast is a Fur Character. Stitch is a fur character.  Chip 'n Dale are fur characters.

As for Push....  despite the Disney announcement to the Orlando Sentinel, Push has officially been "canned".  Read more about this at the 02-09-14 update at the Inside The Magic blog.  I wish I could find something definitive on an "official" Disney site (as does my daughter) as I far prefer linking to those to be  "factual".  Chrissy will be going to Disney the 28th.  She'll be sure to look for Push just in case.... but I am thinking she will be disappointed.

For this week, I am not going to offer a challenge.  I have to get feeling better about making them unsolvable.  Instead, I created a couple freebies for you using My Happy Place.  There is a quick page and two journal cards. I do hope you like them.   And please, feel free to drop a comment on what you would like to see, hear about, or dislike!  I promise to answer them all.

All images are contained in one zip file. Click on either of the previews or here for the immediate download.    Remember that I would love to hear from you!!  Until next week.....

I could only figure out 2 of the kits which were Red Hot Hues and My Happy Place. The only reason I knew My Happy Place is because I have that.

I love your challenges (just don't play along since I have an "insiders" privilege already)! I'm sad about Push being "canned." When you blogged about him a few months ago I fell in love with his sense of humor. Maybe Disney World can come up with something to take his place or the owner of the technology will decide to come around and work something out. I'm counting on you to be ready to help me make the most out of a trip to Disney someday. It's still a few years away but that's one thing I want to be able to do with my three kids.

I love Disney! ... I don't have many photos on my computer because we went when my adult children were very young ... but all things Disney are still my favorite. So thank you for the magical QP & journal cards!
